Fall 2026 · Greater Princeton · Homeschool Enrichment
Enriching your homeschool experience
Ilmwood Academy was born from a shared community vision and a strong need: a weekday enrichment hub inspired by a Prophetic model of pedagogy, serving homeschooling tullab al-'Ilm, or students of knowledge, and their families.

5 Guiding Pillars
Core Foundations
You are your child's primary teacher.
You are your child's primary teacher. That's not a default, it's a choice we deeply respect. Ilmwood exists to support that choice, not compete with it. We bring the optional Mon-Thurs, the small cohort, the scholar-mentors, and the outdoor learning that's hard to build alone, while you keep what matters most: the relationship.
Not a full-time school
Not a parent-run co-op
Not a tutoring center
A homeschool enrichment academy
We interview every family before enrollment. We want to make sure we're the right fit and we want you to feel that too.
The Ilmwood philosophyFive guiding pillars.

Ilmwood rests on five core foundations.
Prophetic Character (tarbiyah, adab, akhlaq), Experiential Scholarship (hands-on, nature-based, homesteading learning), Intellectual Rigor (classical trivium, inquiry-based instruction), Student-Teacher Relationships (small cohorts, individualized mentorship), and Service & Leadership (khidma, humility, community stewardship).
Prophetic Character
Tarbiyah, adab, akhlaq, and identity formation rooted in Prophetic example.
Experiential Scholarship
Hands-on, nature-based, homesteading learning that helps students observe, reflect, and connect.
Intellectual Rigor
Classical trivium, inquiry-based instruction, reflection, and age-appropriate academic challenge.
Student-Teacher Relationships
Small cohorts, low ratios, individualized mentorship, and a learning culture of emotional safety and accountability.
Service & Leadership
Khidma, stewardship, humility, community-oriented learning, and servant leadership.
Schedule & Structure
The preliminary proposed model runs Monday-Thursday, approximately 10AM-2PM, with the possibility of serving preschool through 8th grade in intentionally small cohorts. Mondays and Wednesdays focus on integrated unit studies. Tuesdays are dedicated to Rihla, or trip days focused on nature and farm learning. Thursdays bring field skills, arts, STEM, and real-world exploration.

Nature Study
Bayt al-Salam
Rhythm, wonder, and gentle beginnings. Our youngest students build early literacy, number sense, and lived adab through story, movement, nature, and play.

Al-Salam: peace, serenity, and wholeness. The age when learning begins through tranquility, care, and gentle adab.
Bayt al-Salam is where learning begins in peace. The youngest members of our community are held in a rhythm of story, song, outdoor play, and gentle structure, all woven through with the serenity and adab that makes learning meaningful. We build early literacy and numeracy slowly and joyfully, letting curiosity lead. Every day includes time outside, time for creative work, and time to simply be a child in peace and tranquility.
Bayt al-Quwa
Integrated unit studies, outdoor learning, and the start of real inquiry. Students in Bayt al-Quwa begin connecting ideas across subjects and building the habits of a thinker.

Al-Quwa: strength, capability. The age of growing capacity, intellectually, physically, and in character.
Bayt al-Quwa is where children discover that history, science, language, and faith are not separate subjects, they're one story. Students engage in thematic unit studies that weave literacy, math, seerah, and nature together. Rihla Day takes on greater depth here: students practice stewardship, learn to observe, and begin to ask the "why" behind what they see. We also begin introducing the classical tools of grammar and logic, gently and with purpose.
Bayt al-Yaqin
Deeper study, classical thinking tools, service, and leadership. Students in Bayt al-Yaqin are expected to engage seriously, lead humbly, and begin owning their faith and their learning.

Al-Yaqin: certainty that has been arrived at. The age when belief moves from inherited to owned, and a young person begins to know not just what they believe, but why.
Bayt al-Yaqin is where formation deepens into conviction. Older students take on the classical trivium in earnest - writing, argumentation, rhetoric, alongside applied study in their areas of strength. Leadership and service are woven into the week: students take initiative, mentor younger cohorts, and learn what it means to contribute to something larger than themselves. The Rihla is no longer just a nature day, it becomes a practice of stewardship and reflection that they carry into the rest of their lives. We want students to leave Bayt al-Yaqin knowing who they are, what they stand for, and what they are willing to build.
